A Las Vegas photographer is facing charges of producing child pornography, and local police are now searching for other children who may also have been victims. William Thompson was arrested back in November after police were tipped off that he snapped pictures and videos of a juvenile in what appeared to be sexually explicit situations. The exact nature of those situations has not been disclosed.
The 52-year-old Thompson operated a photography studio known as Storybook Studios on West Craig Road. According to his website, he primarily took wedding photographs and headshots of children and families. Even so, police are concerned that he may have taken sexually explicit photographs of other children in the area. Thompson was officially charged with seven counts of using a minor to produce pornography.
Police believe that the child in question had worked for Thompson for several months as a model before the incident was uncovered. It is not known whether or not other children may have also worked for the photographer as models. They are also concerned that the photographer may have taken other explicit shots during the normal course of his work. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police encourage anyone who has information about other similar acts performed by Thompson to call the department at 702-828-3421. Parents who are concerned that their child may have unwittingly become a victim of Thompson can also call the department or contact officials at crimestoppersofnv.com. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
